Google has announced an Android’s new operating system ‘Android P’ at Google I/O 2018. Android P comes with Google’s AI (Artificial Intelligence) and machine learning capabilities. The new operating systems has included 7 features as follows:
- Adaptive brightness
This feature uses machine learning techniques. The smartphone will understand about your requirements regarding the screen’s brightness. The feature will manage different kinds of brightness in different settings and environments.
- Adaptive Battery
With this new feature, the smartphone’s battery will give priority to those apps or services you use. Because of this feature, your smartphone’s battery will be used for maximum useful work. Also, it will increase the battery capacity
- New navigation system
You can activate navigation from the home screen. According to the company, users face difficulties while navigating by one hand due to the large display. Now with the new design, swipe-up will come in a new layout and after that the users will be able to see the recently used apps. Users can switch from one app to the other app easily. Android P will have a new design. What’s more, this feature comes with quick settings, through which you can take and edit screenshots, manage notifications and control volume more easily.
- App actions
This feature will suggest you activities regarding installed apps. It will generate these activities from apps’ usage history. For instance, when you connect a headphone, the feature will suggest you play your favorite song from your music app.
It gives you more information about the most used apps without opening them. For example, As you search the taxi service provider app named as ‘Lyft’ in Google search, you will get information about price and ride time, etc., so that you can book the ride as soon as possible.
- Smart wellbeing features
Android P will have smart wellbeing features, in which, Do not disturb, App Timer, Dashboard, and Wind down, are special features.
Do Not Disturb
This feature will now silent the phone calls and notifications as well as the pop up visuals on the screen.
By App timer, you can set the time limit on any installed app. If you don’t want to use an app for a while, you can put a timer on it.
On the dashboard, users will be able to see how much time spent on smartphone usage. On the dashboard you will know how long the app was used, how many times the device was unlocked, and how many notifications you received.
It turns on the ‘Night Light’ in the dark and turns the screen into a little dark ‘Do Not Disturb’ on, so that you can know when it’s time to sleep. For this, you have to set your sleeping time in this feature.
- Gesture Navigations
Android P has completely changed the entire navigation of your phone. There will be a home button and a back button still remained on the phone. However, you can swipe up a home button for switching apps. Also, if you want to go to your App tray, you can swipe up it further. You can see a back button only in apps. This feature works from any screen.
