Smartphones will have the “Panic Button” from 2017!

Now Indian Women no need to scare whether they will in risky situations or are travelling alone anywhere. They can ask help just by pressing the “Panic” button on their smartphone.  Considering the safety of women, the Indian government has validated to all smartphone maker companies to add the “Panic” button to their smartphones from 1 January 2017.

This decision was taken after discussions held between the Ministry of Women and Child Welfare and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.  According to the source, the notification about this decision can be issued within this week.

In this feature, the user can press this button for some time, so that the information about that user’s location can get to user’s relatives and family.  The funding for this project will be handled by “Nirbhaya Fund” which was made by the UPA Government.

The planning for this project is going on currently and also, they are discussing adding the “safety” feature in current smartphones.   An officer of the government stated that” We are thinking about the software which will work like the “Panic” Button.  This type’s app will get free to users from the service center. We are still in talks with smartphone maker companies about this feature.”

After the Nirbhaya Case, there were several suggestions came to increase the security of women in the country in which the idea of adding a panic button to smartphones was also included.
