Root is the user name or account that by default has access to all commands and files on a Linux or other Unix-like operating system. Rooting a device is simply the process of gaining full, privileged, or admin control of a device thus allowing ‘root access’ or ‘superuser’ permission. Once a device is rooted, the user has complete control of the device from files on the device to being able to perform additional tasks that will truly make your device your own.

Advantages of Rooting?

Rooting gives you the Administrative access to the entire file system including the ability to change system files such as installing system-wide ad-blocker by modifying the host file on your device, or uninstalling system apps, such as junk ware that comes per-installed on your device.

Once ,your Device is rooted the possibilities are endless. You can flash ROM (custom OS)  and custom kernel, remove bloatware, backup your entire device, turn your device into a Wi-Fi hotspot for free, unlock hidden features, install a custom’s recovery, gain performance and battery enhancements, customize the look and theme of your device and much more.

You will get access to modify anything !

Disadvantages of Rooting?

There are three main disadvantages to rooting Android phone – Voiding your warranty, Bricking your phone and Security risks.

– Voiding your warranty:  Rooting has a bootloader. Bootloader is a  code that is executed before any Operating System starts to run. Mobile manufacturers lock bootloader to preventing you from installing other ROMS or  tampering with your device in any way.

So,unlocking your bootloading will void the warranty on your device.

– Bricking your phone: A bricked phone means, your phone won’t turn on in any way,  and there’s nothing you can do to fix it. It’s possible ,but pretty unlikely. If you follow instruction well, you probably won’t brick anything.

-Security risks: Rooting will be reason for security vulnerability.Because Google refuses to support the some service for rooted devices.
